Liangjing village, Liutong Town, Xiuwen County is at the top of the mountain. Under the valley is Liuguang river. The vertical drop between the village and the river is 400 meters. The river water will not flow to the village by itself. Coupled with the serious rocky desertification and karst landform, the geology of the whole Liangjing area, including Liangjing village, Baoshan Village and Fuxing village, is like a natural funnel. It is difficult to preserve the surface water, and the villagers have been "guarding the river without water" for generations.
On May 27, 2020, the history of no water in Liangjing village came to an end.
Guiyang city and Xiuwen County co-ordinated the municipal and county level funds. After 66 days of fierce fighting, they chiseled the cliff wall and laid more than 1300 meters of pipes. Through pressure lifting, purification and disinfection, the Liuguang river flowed into 2204 villagers' homes in Liangjing area.
After saying goodbye to the draught difficulty, Liangjing village changed greatly. The village set up a cooperative for deep processing of agricultural products, and the villagers who went out to work returned home for development. At present, four large-scale farms have been built in Liangjing area. Zhou Guoliang, Secretary of the Party branch of Liangjing village, said that from the day of water supply, Liangjing District ushered in a good day of "gathering wealth with water".

The villagers guard the river and have no water to eat
Having never been to Liangjing village, I can't imagine that water is so closely related to the happiness, anger, sadness and bitterness of the villagers.
In the middle of December 2020, freezing occurred in some areas of Guiyang city. The y053 Township Road to Liangjing village was frozen, and the Liangjing village at the top of the mountain was cut off from the outside world.
"It's easy to freeze here. When you're short of water, you have to carry water with hemp rope tied on the soles of your shoes." Tang Mingcai, a villager of Liangjing village, said that after the water pipe was installed last year, "skating and carrying water" has become the memory of villagers.
Because of the lack of water, Liangjing village, Baoshan Village and Fuxing village nearby will be called Liangjing area when the decentralized water supply consolidation and upgrading project is carried out in 2020. In terms of geographical environment, the karst landform of the three villages is prominent, and there is no water on the surface. There is not even a paddy field in Liangjing village.
When it comes to "water", Zhou Guoliang, 56, Secretary of the Liangjing village Party branch, has mixed tastes. He said that under the valley with a vertical distance of less than 400 meters, there is Liuguang River in the upper reaches of Wujiang River. The river is in front of us, but the villagers in Liangjing village can't enjoy the gift of nature. The slope of the valley is very steep. People have to support them to get down, let alone carry water. If the villagers want to drink water, they can only go to the sinkhole two kilometers away from the village to carry water. There is an outlet, which will not dry for a long time.
"Every family, regardless of men and women, must carry water in their 10th year." Zhou Guoliang said that when he was a child, he couldn't lift a bucket of water, either two brothers carried it together or half a bucket. Walking on the mountain path, if you are not careful, the bucket will leak due to bumping. At this time, you can only dig a piece of mud to block the leakage point and speed up to go home.
The problem of drinking water in Liangjing village has gradually changed in the past 30 years.
In the 1990s, the government invested in the construction of eight large pools in the village, and Liangjing village entered the era of "wangtianshui"; around 2000, villagers' thatched houses were transformed into concrete houses with small pools on the roof; in 2006, the government gave some subsidies, and many villagers built 30 cubic meters of small water cellars in their homes; from 2010, when the water shortage was serious, the town government would arrange vehicles to deliver water Water, to protect the villagers' basic water.
Even so, Liangjing district still has not got rid of the water shortage dilemma of "the whole family sharing a basin of water and waste water to feed livestock". Because of the water, a lot of things have happened between villagers and villages, villages and villages, even fighting, but there are also warm scenes, "there is a disabled family in the village, the children are not around, the neighbors will take the initiative to help her carry water." Zhou Guoliang said that water is related to every "nerve" in the Liangjing area.
Liangjing village has set up agricultural products deep processing cooperatives.
"Well off water" from cliff
On the top of the mountain near the cliff in Liangjing village, a stone tablet was erected before, which was also called libeiyan by the local people. The stone tablet has been damaged for a long time, and a new one was set up last year, on which is engraved "drinking water to think of the source, feeling the gratitude of the party, fighting heaven and earth to solve the people's difficulties".
Libeiyan is the best place for Liangjing village to see Liuguang river. Standing in the distance of libeiyan, boats are moored on the opposite bank of the river, and farm houses are built along the river.
"In the past, we envied the villagers on the opposite side. There was water at the door." Jia Zuojun, a villager of Liangjing village, said that Liangjing village faces Huajue town in Jinsha County of Bijie across the river. In the past, people from Liangjing village walked down the path from libeiyan to the bottom of the valley, and then took a ferry to the other side to go to the market. At that time, when the villagers went to the market, they had to carry a plastic bottle with them. On the way back, they would take a bottle of water to quench their thirst on the way up the mountain.
"Now, when you look from Huajue town to Liangjing village, there is an extra yellow line on the cliff, which leads directly to the top of the mountain." Jia said that this is a 1300 meter water diversion pipeline built on the cliff to break the "natural moat.".
In order to solve the problem of drinking water in Liangjing District, Guiyang city and Xiuwen County co-ordinated the funds at the municipal and county levels to start the consolidation and upgrading project of decentralized water supply in Liangjing district on March 22, 2020.
"Working on the cliff has a high risk factor." Zhou Guoliang said that at that time, the Secretary of Xiuwen County Party committee rushed to the scene to investigate in the rain and demanded that "both the progress and the safety of the construction personnel should be guaranteed".
There are many difficulties in working on the cliff. There is no road on land, so it is necessary to transport building materials by water. There is no mountain road, so it is necessary to excavate 1.7 km from the cliff. If the excavators can't go, the construction workers will work together to transport more than 250 kg of penstock in place on time, lay and weld it
At a cost of more than 13 million yuan, nearly 100 construction workers fought on the cliff for 66 days to get through the "last kilometer" of water supply in Liangjing area. A secondary pumping station and a high-level pool were set up to pump water under pressure, purify and disinfect. The cool Liuguang river flowed into the homes of 6721 villagers in 2204 households in Liangjing district.
